Of course it does. I even got this once while testing.
This is a caching issue ‒ for me it shows the Manpages FAQ,
and if I Ctrl-Shift-R it shows the avr-libc FAQ(3) like it does for you.

So this is another bug, I guess, since the top bar links to
dyn.m.d.o/faq.html instead of the correct dyn.-free page on the error
pages for example (i got there from the nonexistent m.d.o/unrar, which
redirected me to dyn.m.d.o/unrar to show me the 404).

My report concerns the Debian Manpages FAQ with canonical URL
https://manpages.debian.org/faq.html
(at least I hope that's the canonical URL!)

Best,
Маб

Aha! It seems debiman is where this should get reported. Either

reportbug debiman

(it's shipped with unstable and oldstable) or @ https://github.com/Debian/debiman/ .

I looked at the repository when I was preparing the report and didn't
see any matches for "alioth" or "static ass"; I looked again, this time
at the current sid package (0.0~git20200217.fc82521-1) and likewise see
no matches.

AFAICT this is an issue with the "static assets repository"
(404s in the FAQ) which is part of manpages.d.o more so than debiman
which is mostly frontend-agnostic it seems,
and doesn't ship the FAQ/Index/About pages?

The dead URLs you mention have already been reported in
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=960597
(but not fixed, sadly).

If you want to help with this and provide a proper patch, that
would be against debian-assets:
https://salsa.debian.org/manpages-team/debian-assets/-/blob/master/faq.tmpl

Thanks, that's what I was looking for!

No wonder this was out-of-date ‒ the last commit that touched this file
was in June of 2017.

Patches attached, also posted them as an MR there.
